In a Nutshell: I visited North Korea in late 2014 and over 16 days ventured to all corners of this mysterious nation on one of the longest itineraries ever executed for foreigners. Here are 100 photos (part 1) taken during this visit to North Korea.

Hi Elliot,
You just killed my curiosity, I’ve always wondered what’s life like in N. Korea. Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos.
Frey 🙂
impressive pictures, thanks for sharing. I found this whole story an amazing read,
Great photos Elliot. I enjoyed them a lot. For some time now, I’ve found how these people live to be astonishing. It just fascinates me how these folks are led to believe “The Great Leader” gave them everything like that greenhouse you shared. I watched a video on North Korea where an eye doctor went in a did several hundred lasik and other surgeries. The next day when they got their bandages removed (and they could actually see again)… they ran to the front of the room to the two pictures of you know who, screaming things like “Thanks to the Great Leader for he has given us our sight”… I mean really. No thanks to the doctor at all…. it was “The Great Leader” who did it. I really feel sorry for a lot of the people that have to live there and be bombarded with all the propaganda murals and all. It really is sad they have no clue what life could be like outside that dictatorship.
That was the most breathtaking and beautiful gallery I have ever seen of the DPRK. Its always been somewhere I have wanted to visit. I hope that when I go I get to even see, never mind photograph, half of the sites you had seen. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Very much unspoiled beauty is there. Glad you were able to get this out of the country. Nothing offensive was in any of these pictures. But they always find their reasons. Truly exemplary work
Amazing, absolutely AMAZING!!!
Thank-you for sharing your experience.
Great pictures. Good insight into the unknown, it doesn’t seem as bad as the media makes it and everybody seems very friendly. Any plans of returning?
Incredible. I have always been fascinated by this country. Thank you so much for sharing!
Really nice photos and they seem pretty much representative of what is there. Thanks 🙂
Hi Elliott,
Great stuff, though I am working but can’t take my eyes off the pix, very fascinating to say the least. Though I really want to ask you about where you hid your backups, but we probably shouldn’t expose that. You have more images for part 3?
