In a Nutshell: I visited North Korea in late 2014 and over 16 days ventured to all corners of this mysterious nation on one of the longest itineraries ever executed for foreigners. Here are 100 photos (part 1) taken during this visit to North Korea.

I find your photos so informative and amazing. I am glad I was not born in North Korea. 😂
I found this so interesting. Thank you. I’d lived and worked in the south for 3 years but never visited the DMZ. Great insight and easy reading.
Did they explain why Haeju is forbidden to Americans? It’s astonishing to me that the people still live under such a strict and crazy ruler. Very interesting and amazing pictures! Why were you allowed to take so many?
Fantastic guide about North Korea it gives the western world an idea of what life would truly be like for a North Korean – I still can’t believe that this type of regime is still in existence in 2017
You are one great story teller Elliot! Love those photographs too. I’ve got to travel to Nokor just by reading your post! Made become more interested with NoKor’s history and more. I’m excited to read more of your travel stories! Keep going! 🙂
